Seán Ó Cuileain on passing of GAA’s “Real Gentlemen”, John Moloughney

It is with deep sadness that I inform you of the death of John Moloughney, Clonakenny GAA and Mid Board Vice Chairman. John one of the GAA’s real gentlemen who’s love for his Club and County was second to none. John has been Chairman of the Clonakenny GAA Club for the past 27 years and Vice Chairman of the Mid Tipperary GAA Board since December 2011 and was due to be elected to the position of Mid Board Chairman next month an honor he was hugely looking forward too. Prior to being elected as Mid Board Vice Chairman, John had served as Referees Coordinator in the Division for over a decade. John was also well known as the man behind the camera at GAA matches and events throughout the Division and further a field for many years.

On my own behalf and on behalf of Mid Tipperary GAA Board, I extend sincere sympathies to his wife Bernie, Daughter Gemma and Son William.

Reposing in Maher’s Funeral Home, Roscrea on Wednesday evening from 5.00 with removal at 7.00 arriving in Curaguneen Church at 7.30. Funeral Mass on Thursday at 11.00 followed by burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Rosary this evening (Tuesday) in Maher’s Funeral Home at 8.00.
