Paul Kirwan started life kicking ball in Kennedy Park as a child and has said for many years that his dream was to finish out his playing career by scoring goals on the famous Kennedy Park pitch and winning medals there also, a dream which he has now lived. Since 1998 Paul Kirwan has played Adult football, breaking into Killavilla United’s Senior team at the age of 16 and winning the towns cup in his first year, the premier cup of midlands football in Leinster.

His career has seen him play in Dublin, where he became home sick, and across the North Tipperary and Midlands region, winning trophies at every club he played for. Since joining Roscrea United, a club which was formed largely due to statements and conversations Gerry had about playing in Kennedy Park and getting the community in the Park together, like when he was a young man, he has scored 61 competitive goals in 42 games, a remarkable achievement.

This season has seen Paul Kirwan eclipse the 400 Junior Football goal mark and puts him up with some of the greatest to play the game in Junior Football, some of whom will be profiled here on the North Tipperary Score Centre. Paul has won 2 CCFL Senior Division medals, 1 CCFL Premier Division, 2 CCFL Towns Cups among countless other medals across the midlands to go with his Leinster Junior Cup Runners Up medal and has already won the NT&DL Division 1, Barry Cup and Premier Division Shield.

His work is based in Thurles, where he hears the stories of the famous Thurles Town and his home life revolves around his daughter, who famously takes after Paul, Molly and his significant other, Laura. Paul will go down in history as the greatest player to play in Roscrea and is very highly respected across leagues and divisions regionally.

Watch out for Paul here on the North Tipperary Score Centre.
