Mid Tipperary Senior Hurling and Football Final

Following a meeting of the Mid Tipperary Competitions Control Committee on Tuesday night, the date, time and venue for the re scheduled Centenary Agri Mid Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship Final between Drom & Inch and Upperchurch-Drombane can now be confirmed.The game will take place in Holycross On Sunday October 5th at 3:30pm with Martin Ryan (Moyne-Templetuohy) as referee.

It was also decided that the final of the Gleeson Quarries Mid Tipperary Senior Football Championship will also take place in Holycross on October 5th as part of a very attractive double bill. The throw in time for the Senior Football Final will be 1 30pm. This is the first time that both senior finals will be played together and with admission prices set at €10 for adults and €5 for students and senior citizens it is hoped that patrons will avail of of the opportunity to attend both games.

In another first, the senior football final will be refereed by Tom McGrath (Loughmore-Castleiney) who will be refereeing his first senior football final. It is the first time since 1962 that Loughmore-Castleiney will not play in the final and it is also the first time since 1950, when Sean Ryan the then Mid Secretary, that a Loughmore-Castleiney official will referee the final.
