Fitzgibbon Cup

Commiserations to Craig Morgan, Cormac McGrath and the Mary I team that lost to a stronger UCC outfit in the Fitzgibbon Cup final.

Under 21

Ballina will provide the opposition in the ‘B’ football final. Time, date and venue for this fixture have yet to be confirmed.

Minor

The first round of the ‘A’ football championship against Kiladangan has been rescheduled for Wednesday, 6th March in Puckane.

 

Under 14

In the first round of Féile na nGael MacDonaghs will travel to Gardiner Park this weekend to take on Borrisokane. Time and date to be confirmed.

Juvenile Presentation

A huge crowd assembled in the Complex on last Saturday night for the presentation of medals to the U14 hurlers, U12 footballers and U11 hurlers. Outgoing Juvenile Chairman Michael O’Meara, Senior Club Chairman Joe Whelan and Club President Len Gaynor addressed the gathering. The U11 and U12 teams were introduced by Juvenile Chairman John Jones while Alan Carroll introduced the U14 team. Len Gaynor presented the medals and he also made presentations to following management teams: U14 Hurling Alan Carroll (Manager), Jimmy Cahill (Coach), Martin Cahalan, Niall Shinners, Jack Peters and Liz Williams; U11 Hurling & U12 Football John Jones (Manager), Mick Cleary, Cathal McIntyre, John O’Meara, Lennie Gaynor and Matt Cleary; U12 Football Pat Murphy and Niall Healy; U11 Hurling Martin O’Looney and Eoin Kennedy. Thanks to Pat Foote who provided the amplification and all the parents who supplied the refreshments.

For just €200 you will have a full year’s Lotto subscription, entry to the Tipperary Draw as well as your membership. In effect, supporters who subscribe to this package will have free membership — a saving of €30. Supporters have the option of paying by direct debit.

Sports Awards

Congratulations to Seamus Hennessy who will be presented with the Sports Personality Award and Jerome Cahill who will receive the Handball Award at the Roscrea Regional Sports Awards which will  be held in the Racket Hall Hotel on this Friday, 1st March.

Cul Camp

The annual Kellogg’s Cul Camp takes place in MacDonagh Park Monday 1st to Friday 5th July. Attendance is open to children aged 6 to 13 years. Strictly no U6s this year. All bookings must be done online. More details later.

Sympathy

The club extends sympathy to the family of the late Sandra May Corkery (née Mellor), Kilruane.
