Senior

In the quarter-final of the North championship we have been drawn against Kiladangan. The County League continues on this Sunday, 28th April with an away game against Borris-Ileigh at 2.00pm.

Junior

For the second successive game MacDonaghs had to be content with a share of the points in the League. On this occasion they scored 2-17 in reply to Templederry’s 1-20 in their encounter in Kenyon Park.  The home side controlled the game in the first half and led by 1-13 to 0-9 at the break MacDonaghs hurled much better in the second half with the defence keeping a tight rein on the Templederry forwards. Goals from James Williams and Cormac Mannion in the 20th and 21st minutes turned a five-point deficit into a one-point lead. Points from Conor Doheny (free) and Cormac Mannion extended the gap to three. However, in an extended period of added time Templederry drew level and the spoils were shared.

Best wishes to Robert Austin who suffered an accidental injury in the final moments of the game. He was detained overnight in Limerick Hospital with broken ribs. The next round of the League will be at home to Knockshegowna on this Saturday, 27th April at 7.00pm.

Team: Niall Shinners, Conor Austin, Eanna Hogan, Cormac Williams, Caoilainn Conroy, Declan Barrett, Pat Conway (0-1), Martin Grace (0-1), Mark O’Neill (0-2), Shane Williams (0-1), Robert Austin, Cormac Mannion (1-1), Luke Dervan, Paddy Ryan and Conor Doheny (0-10, 8 frees and a 65). Subs: Kevin Oakley, Pat Williams (0-1), James Williams (1-0), Alan Darcy and Kevin Shinners.

Minor

In the third round of the League MacDonaghs had to give second best to a very accomplished Roscrea outfit in MacDonagh Park. The next round will be away to Toomevara.

Under 14

In the latest round of the football championship MacDonaghs recorded a victory over Templederry/Ballinahinch. The next game is against Toomevara in Ardcroney on this Wednesday, 25th April at 7.00pm.

Under 12

We hosted Nenagh in the final group games. The visitors took the honours in both matches with De Wets losing out by 2-12 to 3-3 while MacDonaghs  came out the wrong side of a 4-8 to 3-4 scoreline.

De Wets had already qualified for the semi-final which takes place on 30th April. MacDonaghs take on Toomevara in the quarter-final while Kilruane face Shannon Rovers Gaels in their quarter-final.

Astro Turf

The official opening of the Astro Turf will be performed by County Chairman John Devane this Friday, 26th April at 8.00pm. On the same night the minor hurlers will be presented with their North medals. Refreshments will be served. Everybody is invited to attend.
