John O’Dwyer voted GAA.ie player of the week

Following Sunday’s epic All-Ireland Hurling final, we had a huge response to our GAA.ie Player of the Week vote, with Tipperary’s John O’Dwyer edging out Kilkenny’s Richie Hogan in a close race.

It has been a wonderful year for Tipperary forward John O’Dwyer, who brought his tally for the campaign to 2-27 with another seven-point return on Sunday, including Tipperary’s equalising score in the 68th minute. The Killenaule man polled 1,519 votes overall for 44 per cent of the vote.

O’Dwyer finished just ahead of Richie Hogan (Kilkenny) and Tipperary team-mate Paddy Stapleton in our public vote, which was conducted on the Official GAA Twitter, Facebook and Instagram pages.
