Rev Jude Thaddeus Okolo-Papal Nuncio to Ireland visited Borrisoleigh on Sunday June 2nd 2019 where he was the chief celebrant at Mass and afterwards visited the birthplace of Bishop Shanahan in Glenkeen

Borris-Ileigh GAA Club Notes
“Tipperary Water” County Senior Hurling League:
Our Seniors will play the penultimate round of this years “Tipperary Water” County Senior Hurling League when they take on Kiladangan in Round 6 this weekend. The game will take place on Sunday the 9th of June in Puckaun at 12pm. The lads will be looking to bounce back from defeat against Thurles Sarsfields last time out. Best of luck to both players and management. All support greatly appreciated.
North Junior ‘A’ Hurling Championship:
Our Junior’s will get their eagerly anticipated 2019 North Junior ‘A’ Hurling Championship underway this weekend when they took on our neighbors and rivals Toomevara in Round 1. This game will take place on Friday the 7th of June in Templederry at 7pm. Best of luck to both players and management in their 2019 Championship campaign. All support greatly appreciated.
Scrap Metal Collection:
Borris-Ileigh GAA Club will be hosting a Scrap Metal Collection on the 14th and 15th of June in The Park. If you’ve any unwanted appliances, farm machinery, batteries or electrical goods we can take them off yours hands free of charge/ A list of all suitable materials can be found on all of our social media accounts, on Twitter @Borris_GAA and on Facebook by searching “Borris GAA”.

Tipperary GAA:
Congratulations to Brendan Maher and Dan McCormack who were part of the Tipperary Senior Panel who dismantled Clare on a score-line of 3-21 to 0-17 in Round 3 of the Munster Senior Hurling Championship in Ennis last Sunday. A great performance all round, well done to all involved.
We would also like to say well done to Tom Delaney who represented our club in the Primary Game at halftime in the Senior Game.
Borrisoleigh Active Social Club
Borrisoleigh Active Social Club held their summer party night in Finn’s Bar last Monday. It was a great night with a lovely meal and music, song and dancing til late. Thanks to everyone who supported the night. Thanks to Joe Loughnane for his hospitality and to Phil & John Maher for providing great entertainment.
