Tipperary will play Cork in the Bord Gáis Energy Munster Under 20 Hurling Championship Final on Tuesday July 23rd at 7:30pm in Semple Stadium Thurles.
The Rebels will provide formidable opposition as they did when the sides met on two unforgettable occasions in 2017 at minor level. The first was a drawn semi-final thriller after extra time in Semple Stadium before Cork edged the replay in Páirc Uí Rinn to progress to the final.
There were 35 meetings between Tipp and Cork in the now retired U21 grade, with Tipp in the ascendency on 17 wins to Cork’s 15, while there was also 3 draws. Last year at the final U21 provincial decider, Tipp were out of sorts as Cork claimed the title. Liam Cahill and his management team will want no similar lapse this year, so an enthralling contest is in prospect.
Best wishes to the team and management on Tuesday and let’s hope Tipp can start off the U20 grade roll of honour as successfully as they did in the old.
The referee will be Thomas Walsh (Waterford). Extra time if necessary and result on the day.
