8 GAA Grounds Included in Ireland’s Rugby Bid

8 GAA stadiums have been included in Ireland’s proposal to host the 2023 Rugby World Cup. Alongside the regular rugby grounds, Croke Park, Pairc Ui Chaoimh, Casement Park, Pearse Stadium, Fitzgerald Stadium, McHale Park, Nowlan Park and Celtic Park join the bid to guarantee a unique atmosphere, with the IRFU claiming that the iconic Croke Park will serve as a world class stage for the final stages of the tournament.
With the Irish rugby team currently on a high after the historic win against the New Zealand All Blacks, it could be speculated that a boost will be given to the GAA stadiums to ensure they’re at the best standard.
Sports Minister Shane Ross has been adding fuel to the fire stating that  “If we win this bid, we’ll be prepared for it. We’re absolutely determined”.
Following a motion passed by the 2013 congress, further relaxing of Rule 5 in The Official Guide would allow the Rugby World Cup play matches should the bid be successful.
