Under 11: LDFC United 3 Killcommon 0
Team: Lewis Coleman, Evan Ryan, Daniel Butler, Jamie Meacham, Tony Foley, Conor Neill, Calum Deegan, Tom Wood, William Bennett-Quaid, Micheal Sutton.
A comfortable victory today with a much improved performance from the United team. Conor Neill opened the scoring in the first half and Tom Wood added a second with a superb free kick just before the half time whistle. William Bennett-Quaid slotted home a third goal midway through the second half. There could have been more goals but for the Killcommon goalkeeper who pulled off at least six stunning saves over the course of the match.
A rock solid defence led by Evan Ryan, Daniel Butler and Jamie Meacham kept Killcommon chances to a minimum, and what chances they did have were dealt with comfortably by goalkeeper Lewis Coleman. The midfield of Tony Foley, Conor Neill and Calum Deegan supported both defence and attack as required, while Tom Wood, William Bennett-Quaid and Micheal Sutton were a lively threat up front.
The most pleasing aspects of today’s performance was the willingness of the forwards and midfield to drop back and help defend when the opposition were attacking and the great passing of the ball by the whole team.
