Cork City’s Cathal Heffernan has officially joined Italy’s AC Milan.
The 16 year had been waiting for loan clearance to go through from FIFA to allow him to join the Italian side.
Cathal who is the son of Irish Olympians Marian and Ron Heffernan had been on trial with Milan in 2021 and it is hoped that the move will become a permanent one in the summer.
Cathal’s dad Rob Heffernan shared a picture on his twitter page this morning and wrote “Finally it’s official. So proud this is only the beginning. Now it’s time to work”.
