Mouse Morris struck on the double at Thurles on Thursday where he shared winners with Rachael Blackmore and Robbie Power. Blackmore was in the saddle as the gambled-on 5/4 favourite Whatsnotoknow scored a three and a quarter length success over The Broghie Man in the 2m maiden hurdle for owner Richard Scott. In the equally familiar colours of Robcour, 5/1 chance French Dynamite recorded a two and a half length win in the rated novice hurdle, the five-year-old readily getting the better of 11/10 favourite The Bosses Oscar.

Denis Hogan landed an early double at Dundalk on Friday where he shared his winners with Joe Doyle. The pair landed the opening claiming race with 14/1 chance Tony The Gent which readily got the better of the Johnny Murtagh-trained 2/1 favourite Parkers Hill by half a length in the colours of owner James McAuley. There was no claim for the winner, but the runner-up is to join County Down trainer Leanne Breen. Hogan and Doyle followed up when the Genesis Thoroughbreds Club-owned Narynkol won the 12f maiden by a similar margin. The 4/1 shot wasn’t extended to beat John McConnell’s 7/1 chance Indignation. Cahir youngster Shane Crosse was in the saddle as the Edward Lynam-trained Major Power landed the 7f apprentice handicap. Another 4/1 winner, the five-year-old carried the trainer’s own colours as he won from the Andy Slattery-trained Eacharn, ridden by Ben Coen, with the winner’s stable companion Masalai, the 7/2 favourite under Gavin Ryan, a close third. Fozzy Stack won the 5f maiden with the easy-to-back 5/1 chance American Lady. The three-year-old got the better of market principals Healy’s double, the 7/4 favourite, and 9/4 shot Bombshell in good style, making light of her wide draw to win under Chris Hayes.
