MacDonaghs had to give second best to Kiladangan in the North final. Thanks to the players and management who put in a huge effort to reach the decider. They must now dust themselves down as they face Carrick Swan in the county championship in Holycross on this Sunday, 25th September at 2.00pm. Congratulations to Kiladangan who were the better team and are deserving champions.
Thanks to the large cohort of volunteers who prepared MacDonagh Park over the last two weeks and also acted as stewards on final day. Unfortunately, the foul weather made it a testing occasion for players and spectators.
MacDonaghs lost out to Roscrea in the first round of this competition. We wish a speedy recovery to Oisín Williams who sustained a fractured thumb in the game.
MacDonaghs participated in the Martin O’Leary tournament in Kilcolman on last Saturday. A draw with Borrisokane and victories over Burgess and Kiladangan gave Kilruane outright victory. Captain Danny Cahalan was presented with the Martin O’Leary trophy. Thanks to Burgess for the invitation and their hospitality on the day.
Under 8 & Under 6
On last Saturday morning MacDonaghs travelled to Toomevara to participate in a blitz. Toomevara and Borrisokane were also involved. MacDonaghs had two U8 and two U6 teams in action.
