Clonmel Commercials Notes – May 20th

Well done to our ladies team who claimed a narrow one point win over Ardfinnan in their opening league game on Wednesday last.  In a really good game where the two teams were evenly matched Commercials showed a real determined streak to win out by the narrowest of margins.  Well done girls a great start to the year.  More good news for the ladies club this week when Tamara Davis and Saoirse Keating were selected by the under 13 county selectors to join the Tipperary panel.

There were wins for the under 12 A and D teams this week over Moyle Rovers.  The two teams played well and both games were excellent adverts for the game.  Well done to all involved .

The club had the honour of leading the town’s St.Patrick’s Day Parade on Thursday with the club Chairman acting as the parade Grand Marshall.  The club were well represented with over 100 adults and children parading.  This was a way of the club thanking the people of the town for their support of the club during our Munster and All Ireland campaigns.  Well done to the parade organisers.

The club social takes place on Saturday next at The Clonmel Park Hotel.  This promises to be a great evening where for the first time ever a Tipperary club will present it’s players with Munster senior football club medals.  Those attending are reminded that the function starts at 7.30pm sharp.

On Friday May 13th The Clonmel Commercials Golf Classic will take place in Clonmel Golf Club. Already bookings for tee times has been lively with some of the prime tee times  taken.  All club members are asked to support this event by either playing on the day, canvassing a team or sponsoring a tee box.  Teams of 4 will cost €120 and a tee box can be sponsored for just €50.
