Fitzgibbon & Delargy Win Rudolph Run

Thurles Crokes athlete John Fitzgibbon continued the excellent form he has shown throughout the season to date when he broke free of the competing field at Rudolph’s 4km Run on Friday night last to cross the finish line in a time of 13:43.

Moyne clubman Stephen Flanagan also put in a hugely impressive and steady display clocking 14:11 to claim the second spot on the night. The third spot overall stayed in Borrisoleigh with Peter Madden finishing in a time of 14:24.

Clonakenny’s Michael Murray was the leading Track-Attacker with a time of 14:48 and fourth place overall. There was many other impressive displays from our Track-Attackers with the performance of Kevin Maher well worth a mention in particular finishing in 16:45.

A superb performance from Aoife Delargy saw her claim the women’s title on home turf. Her performance was consistent right throughout the 2 lap course resulting in a finishing time of 17:09. In second place overall and also the top Track-Attacker was Máire O’Doherty in a time of 18:46 with another Track-Attacker Kathleen O’Meara in third place overall in a time of 19:03.

The Joey O’Dwyer Butchers sponsored Christmas dinner was won by Tom Ryan after his name was drawn from the list of finishing athletes.

Track-Attack would like to thank all the athletes who turned up to support the race and walk on the night. Thanks to Niall O’Sullivan of Premier Timing Systems for his help in timing the event. Thanks to all our sponsors who made the event a possibility. Thanks to Tom Mason and his team of stewards and to Teresa Murray and her team of caterers for their help and to the people who supplied the refreshments also. Thanks to Julie Ryan and Declan Doherty for their help with registration and to Sean Maher and Matthew Ryan for supplying the music at the finish line.
