Tipperary Independent TD, Mattie McGrath, has called for an end to the political posturing from the two largest political parties in Ireland. McGrath was speaking to Tipperary Times this afternoon regarding an interview on RTÉ yesterday
“The politicans of Ireland were elected to make Ireland a better place” McGrath stated, “It is our responsibility to act accordingly and to put the interests of the people first”
Speaking about recent reports that Fianna Fáil leader Micheál Martin is set to reject the a coalition between to two rival parties McGrath was critical of both Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil
“This country is in the midst of a crisis. People, both elderly and young alike are on hospital trollies awaiting treatment. This simply isn’t good enough. There are countless families around Ireland who are living in hotel rooms. This country has never had a housing crisis the likes of what we see today. The people of Tipperary and the people of Ireland elected us to represent them and to sort out this country. It’s time Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil remember the men and women of 1916 and work together to form a stable government and deliver for the people of Ireland”
