Fianna Fáil are at logger heads over the unexpected move by Roscrea’s Michael Smith to become the next Cathaoirleach (Chair) of the Roscrea/Thurles/Templemore District.
Some party colleagues have gone as far as to accuse Cllr. Smith of stabbing his fellow party colleagues in the back to further his own political ambitions. While the proposed move was to see Cllr. John Hogan elected, Smith was proposed by the other 4 councillors leaving Smith with the deciding vote on whether he should be Cathaoirleach or not.
The question we are asking you today, was Michael Smith right to take the position of Cathaoileach despite a party agreement prior to the vote?
