Our Lady’s Templemore face goliaths Ard Scoil Ris in Nenagh today in the final of the Dr Harty Cup. The Tipperary school are hoping to bring the prestigious schools hurling trophy back to Templemore for the first time in 40 years.
Our Lady’s Templemore last won the Harty Cup in 1978 when they conquered the mighty St Flannans of Ennis, coming from behind to do so.
Having beaten De La Salle Waterford after extra-time, the Templemore side will have belief that they can claim the title today in Nenagh with crowds expected from across the Premier County to cheer Templemore on at the 2pm throw in.
Manager Tom Byrnes praised his side’s togetherness prior to that epic encounter and had that view reinforced by what happened in Bansha three weeks ago
