Knigh United Underage Football Notes – March 15

Knigh under 11 boy’s hosted visitors Ballymackey in very wet conditions on Saturday last. Knigh held their own for the first ten minutes against a very talented  Ballymackey team and went in two nil down at half time where they had to change their jerseys they were so wet. Jack Connolly was outstanding in goals. Young Cathal Hayes was injured just at the end of the first half and was a huge loss. Ballymackey got as far as five nil before Captain Ciaran Taplin pulled two goals back in quick succession for Knigh. Unfortunately Ballymackey ploughed on and added another two before the ref blew the final whistle. A tough game to play and well done to both teams

Knigh’s under 11 girls entertained BT Harps in a great game in Knigh and they both got a point out of a nil all draw to show how evenly matched these teams were. Some super goal keeping from young Ally Ryan kept Knigh fighting on
Knigh’s under 13 girls travelled to Birdhill where they were 2-1 down at the break. There was no change of score in second half and Knigh were unlucky no one added to the cracker of a goal from young Messi Megan Dunne. Well done to all who played games sat in horrific weather
