National Macra na Feirme AGM to be held in Tipperary

Arrabawn Co-op and ABP are this year’s joint sponsors of the upcoming National Macra na Feirme AGM. This year’s AGM is being hosted by North Tipperary Macra na Feirme, where all roads will lead to Nenagh.

Preparations for the AGM began last year, where a solid and hardworking AGM subcommittee was created. The launch of the AGM was recently held in the Abbey Court, where welcome was extended to Seán Finan (Macra na Feirme National President), Conor Ryan (Arrabawn Co-op), Don O’ Brien (ABP), Matt Malone (Central Auctions) and Cathlaoireach Cllr. Ger Darcy, Rosemary Joyce, Marcus O’ Connor (Nenagh Municipal District).

All five clubs were present on the night, along with delegates from the North Tipperary Committee. The theme for the AGM is Farm Safety. This AGM is proving to be a great opportunity for furthering personal development of the members and clubs of North Tipperary.

Macra’s 31 regions, Presidential team and staff will begin to arrive on May 6th. Registration for the AGM will commence early on Saturday morning, the proceedings for the AGM will follow. The report for the Macra na Feirme year will be delivered. The AGM will see the election of the National Secretary, National Treasurer and then the National Executive. Following these the discussion and voting of motions will occur. The three national subcommittees will be formed following this.

North Tipperary Macra na Feirme will be hosting the final of the Impromptu Debating that evening. Finally, an evening of celebration will be held following the final. North Tipperary Macra looks forward to welcoming past, present and future members of Macra to ‘Keep it Country, Keep it Safe’. Tickets are €25 and are available from the Abbey Court Hotel reception (067-41111) or from any committee member, alternatively those interested in attending can check out the North Tipperary Facebook page also.

This event could not have been done without the support from our sponsors (who have been very supportive of us), we are very grateful for all the support from the local North Tipp businesses too (who have taken out an advert in the AGM booklet). This opportunity will showcase that North Tipperary is open for business. A sincere thanks to the clubs and members (particularly the AGM subcommittee members) who are working tirelessly to ensure the success of this event. We (North Tipperary Macra) look forward to welcoming delegates, the Presidential team, past, present and future members of Macra to our event.
