Waterford and South Tipperary Community Youth Services, together with Tipperary Rural Travellers Project, hosted a European project meeting in Clonmel on 18th and 19th February. The Clonmel Park hotel welcomed guests from Portugal and Greece over the two day period, with the two-day meeting being officially opened by Pat English, Mayor Clonmel Borough District.
The European project brings together young people from the Irish Traveller community, based in Tipperary, with young people from the Roma community based in Greece and Portugal. Partners in the project are working to develop courses and activities that are helping young Traveller and young Roma to progress in education and work. Young people from Tipperary will participate in exchange visits to Greece and Portugal later this year and during 2017.
The MAYOR will officially open the meeting on Thursday 18th February at 10.00am in the Wilderness Youth Centre, Clonmel. You are welcome to attend.
