Carrick Swans GAA Club hit by Vandals

By Sean O’Shea

The Carrick Swan Club has become a target for vandals on two occasions over the weekend. On Saturday morning the club awoke to find that the doors had been burned off their new premises in Ballyrichard. Again this morning another attack. This time a secure door covering was forcibly removed and the door and frame badly damaged.

In the nearly 90 years the club has been in existence, providing a sporting and social outlet to generations of decent local people in the Carrick/Faugheen area, this is a first. And a new low which they will recover from.

With almost 400 members the club must now come together like never before and put a stop to this. Immediately.

If any of the Carrick Swan members have any knowledge or influence over whoever is involved then the club would urge them to use it and put a stop to this once and for all.
