7-A-Side Gaelic Football Finals:

The boys from Devil’s Bit Macra na Feirme recently took part in the National Finals of the 7-A-Side Gaelic Football which were held in Limerick. On the day they played teams from South Tipperary and Kilkenny. They put in a terrific effort in both matches but were sadly defeated on both accounts. Well done to the boys. We’ll be back next year!!

Public Speaking and Impromptu Public Speaking:

On Friday October 17th Devil’s Bit Macra na Feirme took part in the North Tipperary round of the Public Speaking and Impromptu Public Speaking competitions. Lisa Meade, Helen Hayes and Mary Joyce represented Devil’s Bit in the Public Speaking Team competition and will now go forward to represent both Devil’s Bit and North Tipperary in the National Semi-Finals which take place on November 22nd. Seven Devil’s Bit Macra members also took part in the Impromptu Public Speaking competition. In this competition competitors were asked to pick a word at random from a hat. They then had to speak on this topic for two minutes. Topics included China, desserts, sunshine, spiders, sandals, bananas to name but a few. Helen Hayes from Devil’s Bit was chosen by the judges to represent North Tipperary at the National Semi-Finals which take place on November 15th.  Devil’s Bit Macra na Feirme would like to wish the girls the best of luck in the next round of both competitions.
