North Tipperary Macra na Feirme – Meeting

There was a great turn out of North Tipperary Macra na Feirme members at the county meeting on Friday night last, September 12th, in Killaskully. Many new and exciting upcoming events were discussed and planned. Further details will follow.

Club Officer Training

This year’s club officer training will take place next weekend, September 20th in the Abbey Court Hotel, Nenagh, Co. Tipperary. (See Nenagh Macra na Feirme Club notes for more information)

  • Club Officer Training

Nenagh Macra na Feirme welcomes all Club Officers to the Abbey Court Hotel, Nenagh next weekend.  Nenagh Macra will be organising a social for Friday night (for anyone that has travelled on the Friday night).  This is a great opportunity to all club officers to experience the vibrancy of Nenagh and the welcoming atmosphere that is present in this well-established town.

  • 7-A-Side Gaelic Football

Nenagh Macra na Feirme Ladies team were victorious in the North Tipperary Round of the GAA 7 a side, that was held in Moneygall GAA pitch on Saturday, Sept. 13th.  The team will be progressing to the next round of the finals, which will be held in Mungret. Commiserations to our men’s team who were defeated by Devil’s Bit Macra na Feirme.

  • Club Meeting

Our next meeting is taking place in Una Powell’s pub in Nenagh on Friday, Sept. 19th.  There will be plenty of items on the agenda, and a refreshing plan for the upcoming weeks.  We will be holding a social next Friday night also, and we would encourage YOU to attend!  Further details can be got from our Facebook/Twitter pages – see you Friday night, in Una’s!

Devils Bit Macra na Feirme Club Notes

  • County Officer Training

On the 6th and 7th of September last six Devil’s Bit Macra na Feirme members travelled to Killarney to participate in County Officer Training. The weekend involved a range of talks for the different county officers. Members were given useful advice and support on how to carry out their roles within the county. They then took part in a range of team building exercises. A banquet dinner allowed Macra na Feirme members from all over the country meet. The weekend also involved a trip to Torc Waterfall.  Devil’s Bit Macra members picked up some useful advice and tips during the weekend which they can use within their own club in Devil’s Bit. Thanks to all our members who attended the training.

 Nenagh Macra na Feirme

  • 7-A-Side Gaelic Football

On Saturday night last (September 13th) Devil’s Bit Macra travelled to Moneygal to take part in the North Tipperary round of 7-A-Side Gaelic Football. Devil’s Bits were represented by a team in both the men’s and women’s competitions. The men’s team won their competition after beating a team from Nenagh Macra in what was an exciting game. The Devil’s Bit women’s team were narrowly defeated by the women from Nenagh Macra. The winners now go forward to the national finals with take place on October 12th. Best of luck to Devil’s Bit in the men’s competition and Nenagh in the women’s competition.

 

  • Devil’s Bit Table Quiz

On Friday September 26th Devil’s Bit Macra will hold a table quiz in the Norebrook Lounge Clonakenny. The fundraiser will start at 9p.m. and promises to be a great night. Your support would be greatly appreciated.
