Use of Property Marking Machine
As an initiative arising from the Joint Policing Committee (JPC) Tipperary County Council has purchased a property marking machine.
The Property marking machine works by etching or engraving the property owner’s unique Eircode onto the property. This machine can mark almost any form of property from a trailer or lawnmower to an ipad or computer.
The machine is used as part of a community led programme whereby local community groups are trained to use it. The machine is currently being operated and deployed in the Carrick On Suir Municipal District area, the community groups, within this area are being trained in its use and are marking property within their locality. Property is less likely to be stolen from these areas given the increased potential for detection of stolen property.
The Council is now seeking Expressions Of Interest from committees/groups (within it’s administrative area) interested in being trained on the use of this machine. These nominees will mark properties for people within the locality. Any committee who wishes to use this machine must nominate a representative who will be adequately trained to ensure safe operation and prevent unintentional damage to people’s property in the marking process.
Note:- it is recommended that signage to identify these areas as ‘property marked communities’ are erected as a deterrent.
You may register your Interest in availing of this machine by e-mailing [email protected]and including marking machine in the title. The expression of interest should include:
1. Name of Group/Committee
2. Name Of Nominee for training and contact details*
3. Contact details of the nominated point of contact (Address, E-mail address and Phone Number)*
