€2,000 raised for Clogheen Hospital by Skeheenarinky Vintage Club

Skeheenarinky Vintage Club’s run was held on 31st August and was a great success. The run this year was held for Clogheen Hospital. There was a great turnout on the day with around 66 tractors and 18 cars. The weather was excellent, especially for the tractors with no cabs. Refreshments were served before the run.
Over €2000 was collected by the people driving tractors, cars and those who just donated to the local charity. A cheque was presented to Anne Halley for Clogheen Hospital a week later.
We would like to thank the following; Seamus Fox for the use of his field once again this year. Fr Joe for the use of the school, all the stewards who gave up their time to keep the event running smoothly, Kay Caplice for her outstanding photography skills and the ladies who helped with the catering.
Also a big thank you to those who turned up for the run, those who donated and those who helped out on the day.
Sincere sympathy to Teresa, Paul and Daniel Dwane on the loss of Donie, who was a member of Skeheenarinky Vintage Club. Donie went to all the runs and was sadly missed this year. He was represented this year by his Son, Paul, who drove Donie’s tractor.
Next year will be a memorial run for Donie and all proceeds will be given to Marymount Hospice, Cork. Hope to see ye all again next year.
