By Gemma Morris

With festival season just around the corner here is your ultimate girly survival guide to any festival you’re attending this summer. We all want to look amazing at festivals, especially after seeing a million pictures of celebrities looking absolutely gorgeous at Coachella. Unfortunately we all don’t have our own personal glam squad at our beck and call but here are my top tips on what to wear, what to bring and how to look our best this festival season.

A Rain Jacket

You’re probably thinking “a rain jacket will ruin my outfit” but it won’t if you buy the right one and style it right. Let’s face it, if you are going to an Irish festival it’s probably going to rain at some stage while you’re there so be prepared and bring a jacket.

Accessories

No festival outfit is complete without some cute accessories whether it be a hat or flowery headbands. Sunglasses are always a favourite accessory at festivals because it covers up your tired party eyes and yesterday’s make up that you didn’t take off.

Wellies

Like the rain jacket, a good pair of wellies are essential to have at Irish festivals. There’s no point in bringing your best pair of sandals only for them to get destroyed in the muck. Wellies look great with festival outfits especially denim shorts or a cute flowy dress.

It’s very important to pack lightly when going to a festival. You’re only going for a few days so there is no need for a suitcase packed full of things you won’t even wear. The key to packing lightly is to plan what you’re going to wear/need every day and after that all you will need is one or two spare outfits in case of emergency. Here are a few items to remember to pack.

What To Bring

Dry Shampoo – Every girl’s best friend at a festival for obvious reasons.

Baby Wipes – To take your make up off and for the dreaded “baby wipe shower” (everyone has done it).

Sun cream – On the off chance that you do get nice weather it’s very important to protect your skin, no one wants to get scalded.

Alcohol – Bring your own because it’s ridiculously expensive to buy onsite. Make sure you put in in plastic bottles because security will take any glass bottles you have off of you.

Water – Very important to drink tons of water to keep hydrated. Pack a few bottles because a small fortune to buy at the festival.

Toiletries – Bring a roll of toilet paper with you because there is never any in those not-so-glam portaloos. Buy travel sized toiletries (deodorant, toothpaste etc.), they won’t take up much room in your bag so they are perfect for your few days away.

Torch – Bring a small torch, its handy to have when you’re trying to find your tent in the early hours of the morning.

Non Perishable Food – It will save you a few bob to have a few snacks packed in your bag.

Remember to stay safe & enjoy yourself at festivals!
