A group of cyclists are due in County Tipperary today as part of a major fundraising drive for the Irish Blood Transfusion Service.
The Garda Blood for Life Cycle is a 5 day event which sees 17 members of the force from around the country completing a 1,000 kilometre cycle.
They will visit all 26 counties over 5 days – the group started this morning in Cork and are due in Ballina this lunchtime.
The aim is to raise awareness of the need for people to donate blood – the IBTS requires around 3,000 units each week to in order to meet the country’s demand for blood
