Club Notes 02/09/19

 

Intermediate: Our Intermediates continued their winning ways in the County Championship last Saturday following a 2-13 to 0-16 point win over Ballinahinch to put us top of Group 1 and into the quarter final stage of the County  Championship. A good display in testing conditions saw us go in level at the break but a strong opening 10mins to the second half sealed the win, with Conor Bowe and  Martin Kelly raising the green flags. Match report available here. Attention turns immediately to the big ball where we face Arravale next Sunday at 12noon in Clonoulty in a must win game in the Senior Football Championship.

Junior: Our Juniors continue preparation ahead of their Junior B Mid Final which has now been rescheduled to Saturday September 14th at 5.30pm in Castleiney. All support greatly appreciated.

U15: Our u15’s continue training ahead of their opening games in the Shield competition which is due to start next week.

U13: Well done to our U13’s who defeated JK Brackens in Round 1 last Thursday. They now face Loughmore Castleiney this Thursday with fixture details TBC on Monday evening.

U11: Our U11 Group 2 team had a one point loss to Gortnahoe Glengoole in Templetuohy last week. They now face Boherlahan Dualla in Templetuohy this Tuesday at 6.30pm. Our Group 4 team suffered defeat at the hands of JK Brackens last week. They also face Boherlahan this Tuesday at 7.15pm in Templetuohy.

Stewards: Our thanks to all those who stewarded in Templetuohy both on Saturday and Sunday. Your help is very much appreciated. On Saturday next we host another double header of County action with JK Brackens taking on Clonakenny at 3.30pm and Loughmore Castleiney facing Upperchurch at 5pm. We once again require stewards to be in place by 2.30pm.

Arrabawn: Well done to Cormac Deegan who was part of the Tipperary A U15 team who took part in the Arrabawn Shield winning the 3rd/4th playoff over Offaly.

Ladies Football: Well done to our Junior Ladies who defeated Holycross last Thursday on a scoreline of 4-19 to 1-06, to see them advance to the Junior Final in the coming weeks. Our U19’s got their championship off to a winning start with a 7-09 to 4-09 win over Moyle Rovers. Our U14’s lost out to Arravale on Sunday in a challenge, final score Moyne Templetuohy 5-04 Arravale Rovers 5-14.

Thanks: Fresh from his All Ireland, Paul Maher came down to train our u13/u15’s last week. Our thanks to Paul for a wonderful session and what a role model for these kids to look up to.
