Borrisoleigh Active Social Club

The AGM of the Borrisoleigh Active Social Club was held last Wednesdat night.  The following officers were elected:

Chairperson Lucia Ryan

Secretary Recie Dunne

Treasurer Eileen Slattery

Membership for the year is €20.  With lots of ideas its looking like it will be another busy year for our members.

Pilates class for our members continues every Tues at 6.45pm in the Community Centre Borrisoleigh.

Chiropodist Deirdre Moore will be in the Community Centre, Borrisoleigh this Friday February 15th from 10 a.m.  To book an appointment please contact Deirdre on 089 4478511.

Loughmore Drama Group

Due to popular demand our infamous Dinner Theatre is back for 3 nights – Valentines night Thursday 14th, Friday and Saturday night.
You can enjoy 2 hilarious comedies accompanied with a delicious 2 course dinner and tea/coffee. Bring your own wine/beer!

Borris-Ileigh GAA – Club Notes

County Senior Hurling League Draw 2019:

The draw for the 2019 County Senior Hurling League has been made. The new system implemented this year has introduced a 2 group system for each Division with your position in each Division based off your performance in the previous years County Championship.

The top 16 teams from Roinn 1 will compete in Division 1 with the next 16 competing in Division 2 and so on and so fourth.

We have been drawn in Group 2 alongside Upperchurch Drombane, Burgess, Moycarkey Borris, Thurles Sarsfields, Kilruane McDonaghs, Kiladangan and Drom Inch. The teams drawn in Group one were Nenagh Eire Og, Loughmore Castleiney, Toomevara, Clonoulty Rossmore, Killenaule, Toomevara, Eire Og Annacarty, Roscrea and Portroe

The competition will commence in early March, all fixture updates will be posted here along with all of our relevant social media accounts.

Best of luck to both players and management for the year, after being crowned Division 1 Champions in 2017 and being defeated by Nenagh Eire Og after extra time in last years decider we’ll be hoping for another strong showing in this years competition.

Borris-Ileigh Camogie – Club Notes

 Congratulations St Joseph’s College:

Borris-Ileigh GAA and Borris-Ileigh Camogie Club would like to congratulate St.Josephs College Borrisoleigh on one of the greatest weeks in the sporting history of the school, being crowned double Munster Champions in both Intermediate ‘C’ and Junior Camogie after the Junior (U16 1/2) team completed the double after an astonishing 9-09 to 1-00 victory over Salesians Pallaskenry last Saturday in the Park. Following on from the Intermediate’s fantastic victory 3-10 t0 0-04 win over Presentation Mitchelstown in Kildorrey the week before.

A fantastic achievement, something that will live long in the memory for all involved. Both panels along with their clubs are listed below:

The County Final of Senior Scór will be held in Newport Community Centre on Saturday night 23rd February.  Scór quiz will also take place on the night, this is table quiz format with teams of 4. Entries to Helen Keane on 087 4140287 by Sunday next 17th February 2019.

The Area Final of Scór na bPaistí will take place this Sunday 17th February at 2pm in Borrisoleigh, best of luck to all those taking part.
