he Local Authority Pollinator Award is a special award in the Tidy Towns Competition encouraging Tidy Towns Groups to implement pollinator friendly actions in their town or village. Local Authority Heritage Officers and Biodiversity Officers run the award which is now in its fourth year. Over the last 3 years 144 towns and villages have entered the competition but according to Tidy Towns Adjudicators upwards of 80% of the 800 plus tidy towns areas are implementing actions for pollinators which is really great to hear. This newsletter has been put together by the Pollinator Plan Team at the National Biodiversity Data Centre showcasing some of the work done by groups around the county and featuring articles from winners including the National Award Winners Clonmel in 2018. Congratulations to all involved and Good luck in the 2019 competition
