TIPPERARY COUNTRYSIDE WILD ON FLOWERS INITIATIVE

Environment Section Staff are meeting farmers at marts this week and next with the aim to encourage farmers to lead the way in the pollination of the Tipperary countryside, by distribution 900 packs of native irish flower seeds at 4 marts locations. Launch was held in Nenagh Mart on Tues 26th March 2019 which was very well received by all farmers attending mart. Staff are in Cahir mart (today) Wed 27th March, Tipperary Town mart on 29th March and Roscrea mart on Friday 5th April.

Tipperary County Council recognise that the farming communities play a key role in re-establishing wild flowers clusters in fields and hedgerow across the county and in the protection of the environment against the threats of climate change.

Native flower packs are supplied by Design by Nature, Carlow who are assisting with the initiative.
