Castleiney NS are learning lots of Irish songs and poems in their classes and learning all about Easter 1916 in the parish of Castleiney and Loughmore. We found some very famous characters from the rising actually went to school here. We are looking at the roll books of the school and some of the family names that were attending school in 1916, are still in the school today.
Events :
- We will be holding a Lá Gaelach on Monday 14th Márta, where the Trocaire box will be gaining a few cent if we speak English!!.
- Proclamation Day is on Tuesday 15th March, where Children will perform some poems and songs, have our flag raising and show off some displays of work that we are proud of. This will begin at 11.30am. ALL ARE WELCOME.
- On Wednesday,16th March, we will have a Tráth na Ceist agus féasta mór in school before our Easter holidays.
Castleiney Green Schools Community Art Project
We are endeavouring to gain our third green flag and we asked our community to help us gain awareness for water and to complete an eye catching art display. This was the result.
