31 year old Maurice Power of Dranganbeg, Kilmoyler, Cahir has pleaded not guilty to murdering Shane Rossiter in 2012.

The 29 year old from Clonmel died after being shot following a house party in the West Tipp village of Golden on October 17th, 2012.

Yesterday the court heard that Gardai looking for the car of the accused, found a burnt out Audi in a bog 20 minutes outside of Clonmel. Identification of the car took place after an embossed chassis number was located underneath the bonnet.

Under cross examination, Garda Lorraine Hogan confirmed today that it was a manpower issue that had led to interviewing gardai having off camera contact with the accused Maurice Power.

Mr Dominic McGinn SC defending suggested to Detective Garda Adrian Cooke last week that the accused was made to tell Gardai what he told them.  Detective Cooke replied “no” adding “there was no interaction apart from supervising cigarette breaks and interviewing.”

The trial continues before a jury of seven women and five men.
