Fire in Lorrha claims life of lady in her sixties
A Christmas tragedy has hit the small Tipperary town of Lorrha yesterday as a lady, believed to be in her sixties, fell victim of a house fire.
According to sources, it is believed the fire broke our around 3PM yesterday at the house in Kilregane, Lorrha. Once the alarm was raised, fire brigades from Borrisokane and Birr rushed to the scene of the blaze

Despite the best efforts of the emergency services to save the 67 year old woman, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her body has been taken to the University Hospital in Limerick where a post mortem examination is expected to take place later today.
There was nobody else in the house at the time of the fire.
Nenagh Gardaí are investigating the cause of the blaze, with further examinations of the scene to take place later.
However, Gardaí are not believed to be treating the fire as suspicious.
