Roscrea and Nenagh are among the many towns and cities that are holding candlelit vigils over the weekend for honour the memory of Ashling Murphy, the 23 year old national school teacher who was fatally attacked while out for a run in broad daylight on Wednesday afternoon.
Nenagh will hold a silent candlelit vigil in Banba Square at 4.30pm on Saturday, those attending are asked to wear masks and observe the current public health guidelines.
Roscrea will hold their vigil on Sunday evening at 6pm in Rosemary Square. The organisers have asked those attending to bring a tea light to remember Aisling.
Gardaí are still appealing for information on the fatal attack which took the life of 23 year old Ashling Murphy.
