A 28 year old man has appeared in court charged in connection with a home invasion in Tipperary last month during which a female occupant was confronted.
28 year old George Hackett, originally from Tipperary but with an address at 3 Ferndale, Ballinacurra Road in Limerick appeared before Nenagh District Court today charged with burglary.
He was arrested yesterday evening following an operation by detectives from Tipperary and Limerick after a break in at a house in Thurles on the 23rd of April last.
Gardai gave evidence of charge and caution at today’s short hearing before strongly objecting to bail being granted.
Judge Elizabeth McGrath remanded the accused in custody to Limerick Prison and he will appear before Thurles District Court next Tuesday.
