Weekly Club Notes – Sep 6th 2019

***Kindly Sponsored by Pa’s Bar, Upperchurch***
We resumed county hurling action last weekend with a close and exciting clash against Burgess. A nip and tuck first half saw us take a 3 point lead into the break and we maintained this advantage till a Burgess goal midway through the second levelled proceedings. From there on points were traded until Burgess took a 2 point lead approaching full time. But our lads found an extra gear to fire over 3 unanswered points and claim the win 0-21 to 1-17. With Loughmore & Nenagh playing out a draw in the other group game it leaves the table very tight. Nenagh on 3 pts, Upperchurch & Loughmore on 2 pts and Burgess on 1 pt.
Tomorrow(Saturday) we play our final county group round against Loughmore-Castleiney at 5pm in Templetouhy. The winners will progress to the knockout stages. Best of luck to the players and hoping for good support to cheer them on. The mid quarter final against Thurles Sarsfields is scheduled for Sunday Sept 15th at 2pm in The Ragg.

Next Wednesday we face off against Éire Óg Annacarty in our final county group game with the winner qualifying for the county quarter finals. This match is fixed for Dundrum at 6pm and it would be great to see a big turnout there.
