Moloney’s Motion to be debated in Seanad

A motion put before Tipperary Co Co to have Irish Sign Language recognised as an official language will bring the motion to fruition when it will be debated and voted in the Seanad in the coming months.

In addition, Moloney has sought to have a member of staff trained in ISL in the local authority office if an interested member of staff came forward or when employing for a future position that ability to sign would be an advantage.

On Monday 19th Sept, Minister Finian McGrath will be launching Irish Sign Language Awareness week and Moloney who is working with groups locally hopes to see a successful conclusion.
