Every town, village and country road in county Tipperary has a person or group of people who add value to the whole community. They do the small things that have big impacts never getting the recognition they deserve for all their effort.

We can change all that.

Volunteer Ireland the National Volunteer Development Agency are seeking nominations for this years Volunteer Ireland Awards. They are looking for the people that we know by first name. Those who give selflessly of their time for the benefit of others and who never look for anything in return.

This is our chance to make a difference to their lives and all we have to do is fill out a short on-line nomination form which can be accessed by clicking HERE

As this is the National awards a short list of nominees from each of the following categories will be drawn up for the awards ceremony which will be held later in the year in Dublin.

Arts, Culture & Media

Community
Children & Youth
Emergency & Ambulance Services
Health & Disability
Sports & Recreation

All the volunteers we nominate will receive a Thank You card from Volunteer Ireland in recognition of their commitment to volunteering and adding real value at local level.

2012 was a great year at the Awards Ceremony for County Tipperary with Cel Fennessy from Clonmel winning the National Youth & Children category and Denis Heffernan from Emly being short listed in the Environment section.

There are to many good stories and people in our Premier county who we need to tell the country about so let make a start and get nominating. The closing date for receipt of entries is October 16th.
