The Christmas spirit is building in Cahir and Santa has committed to four dates at his busiest time of the year. Santa, along with Mrs. Claus and the elves will be in Santa’s Grotto at Cahir Tourist Office from 2pm – 5pm on the 10th, 11th, 17th and 18th December. Admission is €5 which includes a present and tea or coffee for parents. South Tipperary Consumer Panel will be in attendance on the 11th at the Grotto and Carol Singing by Cahir Youth Choir on the 18th.
On the morning of the 10th of December focus will be on Cahir Santa 5km Run / Walk. Make some room for the turkey with registration at 10am and Run/Walk begins at 10.30. This event is in aid of Cahir Christmas Lights appeal.
On the evening of the 10th at 4.30pm Cahir’s new Christmas lights will officially be switched on. Sponsors for this project are Cahir Credit Union, Tipperary County Council along with CDA Community Lotto, Cahir Community Bingo, Tidy Towns, Meet and Train Group and the Traders of Cahir.
This project is a testament to the sponsors and Cahir is sure to shine bright for many years to come.
Sunday the 11th of December sees Cahir Craft Fair and Christmas Market take place in Cahir House Hotel. With lots of variety on offer, it’s sure to be the place to pick up your Christmas gifts. The market takes place on the day from 11am – 5pm.
Cahir Farmers Market will hold a special Christmas market on Friday the 23rd of December from 9am – 1pm.
