The increase in Covid-related activity in Nenagh hospital and within the surrounding areas has caused these restrictions to be brought in.
The decision to introduce these measures were taken by hospital management to ensure safety to the patients and their families. They are also hoping this measure will help to keep all hospital services open at this time.
The situation within the hospital is continuing to be monitored on a daily basis and the hospital is hoping that they will be able to reintroduce visiting in the inpatient wards as soon as possible.
There are currently two exceptions to the restriction of visiting.
- Those assisting confused patients (Dementia)
- Those visiting patients who are critically ill or end of life
These will all go on a case-by-case basis.
All other services in the hospital continue to operate as normal.
