Carrick-on-Suir, Tipperary Town and Ballyporeen will share a total of €788,000 in
funding under the Town and Village Renewal Scheme.
Deputy Michael Lowry has received confirmation from Minister for Rural and
Community Development, Heather Humphreys TD., that €500,000 is being
allocated to Tipperary Town to support ‘The Hills’ Recreation Centre. This extensive
acreage is home to Pitch & Putt, a Play Area and a Walking Trail and funding will
allow for the provision of pathways, increased accessibility, picnic benches,
biodiversity planting and reflective areas.
€198,000 is being allocated to Ballyporeen for the provision of a Remote Working
Hub and multipurpose space, while Carrick-on-Suir will receive €90,000 to fund a
proposal to develop lands abutting the Co-Op on the southern bank of the River
Suir to provide a Public Amenity Park, which will extend existing parkland east of
Dillon Bridge.
