Morris slams those guilty of illegal dumping

Cllr Seamus Morris of Sinn Féin is proud of both his home town of Nenagh, but also of Tipperary. Morris has been working tirelessly to make Tipperary a better place for all its inhabitants.

This morning, Cllr Morris found that the scenic beauty of Tipperary was under threat from “vandals” who throw bags of rubbish at the side of a road. Speaking to Tipperary Times today Cllr Morris said:

“This morning, the residents of Drummin Road, Coolaholliga and Ballyhimmikin picked up rubbish which had been dumped on their roads today. It’s scandalous in this day and age people still find it acceptable to dispose of their rubbish in such a manner. It’s totally unacceptable”

Cllr Morris went on to mention that they have a lead on those who dumped the rubbish. “The volunteers who were out cleaning the rubbish today also found bank details of a person in one of the bags which will be passed onto the council. I also took photographs of the ditch outside the halting site which is full of rubbish and the abuse that I took from the children there was disappointing to say the least.

I will be asking the county council to ask Travelers Associations (who run into us asking us for social inclusivity for travelers) to ask their members to do as the residents of Drummin Road, Ballyhimmikin and Coolaholliga have done and clean up their own area. I wont hold my breath. Well done however to the members of the community who live socially inclusive lives”
