A major water leak has hit Cahir today. Local Cllr Andy Moloney informed local media this morning that repairs were underway and it was hoped that the issue would have been resolved by mid afternoon.
Following failed attempts to repair the leak, Cllr Andy Moloney has informed Tipperary Times that it will now be Monday morning before the leak will be repaired.
Cllr Moloney stated “Due to the complexity of the leak itself, it will require more work tomorrow morning”.
Speaking of the impact to residents of the town, Cllr Moloney continued, “It’s certainly an inconvenience for those living around Cahir. The supply will be shut down from midnight until 7am and again from 9:30am until 2pm to allow for the repairs to be completed”.
Understanding the challenges facing towns people, Cllr Moloney concluded “This is an unavoidable measure, but we hope to have the issues repaired tomorrow and we will ensure disruption is minimised”
