Tipperary County Council in a state of Paralysis

Tipperary County Council is in a ‘state of paralysis’, according to re-elected Sinn Fein Councillor Seamus Morris,  who spoke to Dave O’Grady.

Morris criticised the recent decision to dissolve the Nenagh Town Council and believes it could have a detrimental effect on the area.

“I’ve been here for years but now I’m not even sure who to go to when addressing serious issues. I honestly believe they will realise it’s the wrong decision and it will be reversed in years to come,” he said.

The Tipperary County Council will replace all the local authorities in the county as well as North and South Tipperary County Councils.

Morris also believes that his success in the recent election was down to people voting for who they trusted and that other politicians were found out.

“There were a lot of first time Sinn Fein voters. Usually Sinn Fein would be far too left for a conservative Tipperary but other politicians were found out and we discovered that people were voting for the politicians they trusted”.

The councillor said that he is getting straight back to work and he plans to address the housing crisis as soon as possible.
