Last chance to get on the register of electors

People wishing to have their say on who makes up the new Tipperary County Council have until later today to make sure they can vote.

Application forms to have your name added to the register of electors have to be completed and returned to local authority offices today.

Application forms to be included on the register of electors are available online at www.checktheregister.ie or can be got at any County Council office.

Once the form is completed, it must be signed by the applicant in the presence of a member of the Gardaí and stamped.

The Local and European elections will be held on Friday May 23rd when polling stations will be open from 7am to 10pm

The new Tipperary County Council will have 40 representatives, elected from 5 electoral areas with a total of 85 candidates putting their name forward.
