Our club held its Annual General Meetings over the weekend. On Friday a healthy attendance was in place for our Juvenile meeting. Club Chairman Sean O Donoghue and Secretary Justin Irwin both spoke  about the season just gone with a very positive outlook heading into 2017. They thanked all mentors of club teams throughout the season and the supporters for always turning out in numbers. The players themselves also for their brilliant efforts on the field of play with an emphasis for next season on preparing even harder and improving all fitness levels. A very positive meeting was brought to a close with Seanie and Justin wishing all in attendance a Merry Christmas and looking forward to continued success In 2017.

On Sunday our Senior Club held its AGM before a decent attendance. Club secretary Aodan Wrenn gave a detailed report on all on pitch and off pitch activity throughout a highly successful season. In total. 13 trophies were won by various teams. He paid tribute to all our teams and their selectors in what was a huge season the standout moments was winning the Double in both Minor hurling and Football. Adding a west U.21 hurling title and the Junior B championship made for a superb climax to the season.

Aodan paid tribute to our outgoing development officer Brendan Murphy for all his dedication and hard work and endless hours spent in the training field overseeing the development of our juvenile teams. Going forward the club can now plan confidently for the future. Aodan covered all aspects of the club from fundraising with special mention to our Strictly Come Dancing and Crumlin Hospital bucket collection and the organising committees, in what was a fantastic year, he hoped we could revisit something similar moving forward. Club treasurer Michael Brosnan presented a detailed run down on all finance activity as did club Lotto representative Mattie Finnerty on all aspects of our lotto.

Mattie and Michael expressed sincere thanks to those that help out and continue to support our Lotto, but also remarked that there is so much room to improve sales especially among our own members. Club chairman TJ Connolly urged that all club members get behind the club. Things were positive in 2016 but much work lays ahead and that all club personal should help out in their ‘proud club’.

TJ was thrilled with our successes highlighting many brilliant wins and he hoped this could be maintained and improved upon for 2017. He thanked all mentors for their continued hard work throughout a hectic season. He was proud our facilities in leahy park have continued to blossom, thanking outgoing field manager John Ryan and Graham and Anthony for their trojan work. TJ thanked the massive contribution from his secretary Aodan, treasurer Michael, club president Mattie and Pat Donoghue for their work with club Lotto and indeed all of whom have helped out in any capacity throughout his first year as club chairman. TJ stressed the door is always open for those that wish to get involved in any area of our club going forward.

A special mention was given to those we sadly lost in 2016, remembering Joe Joe Moloney, Denis Fitzgerald, John Jer Murphy, John Maher and Tom Toomey, may heaven be their bed. Moving forward TJ wished everyone a merry Christmas and he looked forward to 2017 and the continued support of all its members in continuing the progress of Cumann Caiseal Ri Cormaic.
