Funding under the National Taking in Charge Initiative (NTICI) from the Department of Environment Community and Local Government (DECLG) will hopefully progress the Taking in Charge of an Ardfinnan Housing Estate according to Local County Councillor, Martin Lonergan.
The Planning Section of Tipperary County Council has now secured funding for the following Measure 1 Estates (Housing Estates not containing developer provided water services);
“The Planning Section in conjunction with the Roads Section and Water Services Section will continue to progress the Taking in Charge of the above estate this year which is welcome.
The above estate will require bond claims to be undertaken, wayleaves to be secured and consultation to be undertaken with Irish Water prior to the statutory Taking in Charge Process being commenced. The Planning Section will endeavour to progress same as expediently as possible and hopefully it can be finalised as soon as possible.
For those who have purchased houses in this estate, this news is welcome. Moving forward now, we have to also acknowledge the Lady’s Abbey House, as a derelict building and see what we need to do as a Local Authority and think outside the box with innovative ideas of how we can use the building moving forward”, according to Councillor Lonergan!
