Moloney welcomes Dementia Roadshow to area

The Alzheimer Society of Ireland was founded in 1982 by a small group of Carers. Today it is the leading voluntary organisation for Alzheimer and dementia care in Ireland.

Cllr Andy Moloney, Mayor of the Clonmel Borough District is encouraging interested parties to come along to the Roadshow that will visit all big cities next week but Clonmel has secured a stopover on Wednesday next 21st September from 10 to 1. The roadshow will be at Clonmel Library and is well worth a visit.

Le Cairde Day Care based in Glenconnor, Clonmel offers Dementia Specific, person centred care specially designed to meet the needs of people with dementia in a warm welcoming safe environment.

Mayor Moloney says that Catherine Bartels of the centre would like to inform the public of their services such as appropriate activities, arts & crafts, gentle exercise, meals and music. She can be contacted on 052-6176775 but next Wednesday’s roadshow will give an insight to the workings of their facilities.
